【Product Story】
Susumaniello is an indigenous Italian grape variety originating from the southeastern region, known as "Puglia," which resembles the heel of a boot, and is the largest wine-producing area in southern Italy. Susumaniello is one of the rarest and oldest grape varieties in the world, with its name derived from the Italian word "Somarello," meaning donkey, because of its early abundant yields that required donkeys for transportation. However, over time, the production of Susumaniello drastically decreased, becoming a nearly extinct rare variety. The wine produced from this grape variety is rich and diverse, with a full body, complemented by its elegant and noble quality, resulting in an excellent flavor. It is crafted using traditional techniques, with a brief maceration of the skins followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After filtration, the wine is briefly aged on the lees before continuing to mature in stainless steel tanks, creating its elegant color and enchanting floral and fruity aromas!
【Tasting Notes】
Color: Soft, bright pale pink.
Aroma: Complex layers; upon opening, the aromas of red currants and strawberries burst forth, followed by a wave of citrus notes, accompanied by elegant floral scents and hints of rosehip, finishing with woody notes of green tea and tree roots.
Palate: The body is delicate and smooth, with a fresh and vibrant acidity that remains elegant, and a long-lasting finish.
Food Pairing: Ideal with seafood appetizers, large shrimp or shrimp tartare, fish-based starters, scallop soup, rice, chicken salad, medium-aged cheeses, or simple tomato basil pasta.
